A glimpse into our previous litters

How often are our litters?

Unleashed Borders puppies are raised from birth to the moment they leave for their new homes with great care. Before planning our very first litter I personally took a year working at a Veterinary Clinic, helping as a Vet Assistant and had hands on experience in helping with cesarean births as well as natural ones. It took years of learning from my own breeders, breeder friends, show judges and even working at the Cyprus Kennel Club until I finally took the final step in making the decision of becoming a breeder. It is a big responsibility and no joke.
I'm taking time off work to ensure we are with them every step of the way until the moment they leave. Our litters will be rare and possibly once a year, until a new member joins the family. The breeding is always carefully researched beforehand to ensure that all pups will be of great quality. Puppies are available from these litters to (sometimes) loving pet and mostly performance homes who are carefully screened. At rare cases, we may also give to show homes in co-ownership contract.
All puppies are grown up with Puppy Culture and ENS . Border collies are a versatile breed and need to be challenged both mentally and physically where appropriate. These enrichment programs of ENS and Puppy Culture are scientifically proven to raise puppies that are more stable and can withstand more stress in the future. All this starts with us and continues with the owner as we advice and help our future puppy owners with appropriate programs to help them grow into what it is to have a border collie. Like our breeders helped us, we will help you.

IF YOU ARE NEW TO THE BREED

Please take a moment to read through "The Border Collie" page. This will help paint a picture what it is to own a (well-bred) border collie, as well as answer questions such as; Is this breed suitable for you and your home? Are you prepared to change your lifestyle for the next 10-17 years? Please click the link below:

Our Puppies

From planning the mating, to the time where the pups need to leave for their homes we take every step very seriously. As mentioned in our home page. We are very strict with producing genetically healthy dogs above all, good temperament and we strive to be as close to what a border collie should be.
In case we need assistance our vets are on standby, Claudia personally took a year to work at the clinic to learn and to be  prepared in any situation for anything they need. Pups are born in a clean and sterile area, equipped with a custom made whelping box. Someone will be sleeping next to the whelping box and always carefully monitoring the Dam and her pups for as long as they need. And there is always someone home full time from the litters birth until they go to their new homes, we either work from home or take time off work to be there full time. We follow a careful plan to socialize and mentally stimulate our puppies as much as appropriate and possible while they are with us and expect our owners to continue this for their dogs entire lifetime.

Steps to Acquiring one of our Border Collie Puppies

Our questionnaire is designed to help us understand your household, family, lifestyle and what qualities you are looking for in a puppy.
Please do not be offended by these questions as we take placement of our puppies very seriously.
We are preservation breeders. We breed for physical and mental health, not color, although our dogs have their DNA genetics traits tests.
Our dogs have all been DNA tested for genetic diseases and x-rayed. And we only breed with similarly health tested dogs.
We place pups based on suitability, but often we can accommodate color preference as well.
Our pups will be ready to go to their new homes between 8-9 weeks of age. Or if travelling abroad (within Europe) 3 and a half months, and if travelling to UK or the USA then 6 months.

Common Questions

How much does a puppy cost?

Until a litter is born we do not know. We are not a factory or a shop that sets a price We have rare litters, and in each litter costs vary up until the point of birth. Not taking into account all the costs that went into the bitch to be approved for breeding. There are stud fees, travel costs, vet costs, progesterone tests, swabs, ultrasounds, possible C-sections and a lot more which are things we cannot know beforehand.

When can I visit the puppy?

Puppies are under strict quarantine for their own safety and the mothers up until at least the first vaccination appointment. There are constant Parvo outbreaks in Cyprus and we take no risk in endangering our puppies lives. All puppy owners receive weekly updates, and will be informed about when it is safe enough to visit.

When can I pick up my puppy?

This again depends on the vaccination agenda of the puppies. However no sooner than 8-9 weeks of age.
